The bill to withdraw the United States from the United Nations will not have consequences.

The bill on US withdrawal from the UN, which was introduced to Congress by Rep. Republican Mike Rogers, has no future. The actions of Rogers and his supporters are nothing more than a PR move, fishing in troubled waters against the background of the shatdaun that has swept the country and the protracted argument between the president and his opponents.
The actions of Rogers and his supporters are nothing more than a PR move, fishing in troubled waters against the background of the shatdaun that has swept the country and the protracted argument between the president and his opponents. However, from a formal point of view, the initiative expressed by Rogers is consonant with what the head of the White House has repeatedly publicly argued - in his opinion, the UN is ineffective, and the organization’s budget is bloated. However, the question of withdrawing from the international organization Trump, at least at this stage, did not raise - the United States has so far used the UN platform to promote its interests and unite allies. In 2017, Rogers tried to hold a similar UN bill on the UN issue through Congress, but suffered a crushing defeat - the document was not approved by the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs. The same fate awaits a new Republican plan with a high probability.
Nevertheless, the trend is obvious: the White House is not averse to freeing itself from burdensome participation in international structures, where, for various reasons, Americans cannot dominate. The withdrawal from UNESCO, which the US State Department explained by “anti-Israeli bias,” and from the UN Human Rights Council, for the same reason, demonstrate Washington’s willingness to resolutely part with organizations that criticize American politics. However, this farewell to the "non-core", according to the White House, the assets does not mean that the Trump administration has plans to destroy to the ground all the structures created after World War II to preserve international stability. And Trump's desire to reformat these organizations in the US interest so that every dollar spent on their maintenance works for the United States is not identical to America’s self-isolation course promoted by Senator Rogers.
"The White House is not averse to rid itself of burdensome participation in international structures."
Nevertheless, Rogers’s legislative initiative for the United States’s withdrawal from the UN is not to be taken as a completely marginal idea either. It cannot be ruled out that this is a “throw-in” in order to exert indirect pressure on the UN Security Council and to check the reaction to a possible American outlook on the part of the international community. Recently, the White House has repeatedly used economic and geopolitical blackmail to promote its initiatives. One recent example is the letters from the US ambassador to Germany addressed to German companies participating in the Nord Stream 2 project. In them, the diplomat openly threatened businessmen with sanctions if they did not abandon the construction of the gas pipeline. Only after the German Foreign Ministry called the actions of the American ambassador elementary inappropriate to diplomatic traditions, did he restrain his "explanatory" work.
