The EU has approved the conditions for obtaining the Schengen multivis.

What you need to get multivisa

The EU Council approved amendments to the EU visa rules, which provide for "better conditions for bona fide travelers." Innovations will affect tourists from more than 100 countries.
As stated in the new rules, first the applicant must obtain and correctly use the three short-term visas issued during the previous two years. Then he can be issued a multiple-entry visa for a period of one year.
If during the previous two years the applicant correctly used a multiple-entry visa for a period of one year, then he may receive a visa for a period of two years. Then you can get a visa for two years, and then - for five years.

According to the EU, such an order would be convenient for tourists who observe the rules of entry and behavior in the territory of the EU countries.

As for the "legal use of visas", the new rules provide for tougher checks for requesting a visa for all databases, as well as the creation of a "common identification data store" (CIR).

At the same time, the European Commission on June 3 began considering the possibility of suspending visa-free access to the EU for citizens of Albania. A request for this was made by the Netherlands, who are concerned about the increase in organized crime of Albanians and the increase in the number of illegal migrants from this country.
In April, the European Commission released statistics on Schengen visas for 2018. Last year, more than 16 million applications for short-term visas were filed, including 3.7 million applications from Russia. At the same time, in 2017 applications for visas were submitted by 1 percent more than in 2018. The decrease is due, among other things, to a reduction of 5 percent in the number of Russians who want to get a Schengen. In addition, in Belarus the number of applicants decreased by 4.8 percent, in Turkey - by 9.5 percent, in Algeria - by 8.8 percent. Also, after the introduction of visa-free entry into the EU for the citizens of Ukraine, the number of applications from there decreased by 73 percent.

At the same time, China submitted last year by 11.3 percent of applications more than in 2017, India - by 17.4 percent.

As for the rejected applications, only in 2018 there were 9.6 percent of such (in 2017 there were 8.2 percent of failures). For applicants from Russia, Belarus and several other countries, the refusals do not exceed 2%, whereas for many African countries (Algeria, DR Congo, CAR, Eritrea and others), as well as for Iraq, the number of refusals is more than 35 percent.
